Steve Davis

Stephen Mark Davis Date of Birth: Oct 30, 1968

Although coming from the North-East, Steve was a junior at Southampton but found first team opportunities hard to come by at the Dell so accepted a £60,000 move to Burnley in 1991 where he became a crowd favourite, helping the Clarets to successive promotions.

A £750,000 cheque took him to Kenilworth Road in 1995 where his astute reading of the game and power in the air in both penalty areas made him indispensable in over three seasons at Luton. An £800,000 bid from Burnley, and the players desire to return, saw Steve move back to Turf Moor in December 1998.

After a spell at Blackpool, Steve went back to Turf Moor as first team coach before taking on a similar role at Bolton.
