Steve Sutton

Steve Sutton Date of Birth: Apr 16, 1961

Goalkeeper Steve began his career at Nottingham Forest, working his way up through the ranks to become understudy to Peter Shilton. After Shilton left, Steve eventually made the position his own and was a regular for five years, a period at the City Ground that took in two League Cup final wins, one of which was against the Hatters in 1989.

After losing his place to Mark Crossley, Steve went out on loan and in his short spell at Luton in 1992 he was inspirational.

Sadly the Hatters, who were struggling against relegation from the top flight, could not afford to sign him permanently and the superb shot-stopper went to Derby instead.

After spells at Reading, Birmingham, Notts County and Grantham, Steve rejoined Forest on the coaching staff.
