Tom Alderson

Thomas Alderson Date of Birth: Dec 8, 1908

Born in Leasingthorne, County Durham in 1909, Tom had trials for both Bradford City and Newcastle before joining Leeds where he made a handful of appearances over two years.

Coming to Luton in December 1932, primarily as forward cover, he soon found himself thrust into the first team at a time that coincided with the Town’s run to the FA Cup quarter-finals and, indeed, he scored one of the goals to knock out Tottenham in round four.

His stay at Luton was not long and he joined Darlington in the summer of 1933 before retiring to become an electrician.
