Tommy Little
Tommy Little Date of Birth: Jun 22, 1872 Share "Tommy Little" on FacebookWhen the Town entered the Football League in 1897 the club’s directors scoured the country looking for new players who were experienced at the level.
Tommy fitted the bill. Born in Dumfries in 1872, he had played for both Derby and Manchester City and could play all across the forward line.
Fast and clever, he possessed a powerful shot in a free-scoring forward line that enabled the Town to finish eighth in its debut season.
Sadly, money troubles meant that the side was dismantled with Tommy moving to Swindon in 1898 before a season back in the Football League with Barnsley and then finishing his career back to Scotland.
