Trevor Aylott

Trevor Aylott Date of Birth: Nov 26, 1957

The phrase ‘much-travelled striker’ was invented for Bermondsey born Trevor who turned out for nine League clubs in a long and fruitful career.

Starting out at Chelsea, it was from Millwall that Luton manager David Pleat signed the big target man for £55,000 in March 1983 when it was realised that a ‘presence’ was needed in the Hatters forward line to help the nippy but small Paul Walsh.

A superb hold-up player, Trevor aided the Hatters in their bid to avoid relegation in 1982/83 then weighed in with eight top-flight goals in 1983/84 before surprisingly moving to Crystal Palace in exchange for Vince Hilaire.

Trevor became a London black cab driver.
