An energetic inside-forward, he was beset by a string of injuries and when fully fit could not force his way back into the side. A surprise move to Sheffield Wednesday followed but he failed to make the grade there and finished up turning out for Kidderminster Harriers.
Wallace passed away in Kidderminster in 1987.
