Walter Clarke
Walter Clarke Date of Birth: Jul 13, 1874 Share "Walter Clarke" on FacebookBorn in Rushden in 1874, Walter joined Rushden Town in 1893 and later turned out as an amateur for Small Heath and then as a professional with Darwen.
At Darwen he suffered a bad injury and returned to Rushden from who the Town signed him in the summer of 1898. Although preferring centre-half he played in three different positions in his four League games in the early part of 1898-99 and after failing to nail a regular first team spot went to Wellingborough.
A ‘boot clicker’ by trade he passed away in Higham Ferrers in 1944.
