William Burgess Date of Birth: Sep 22, 1919 Share "William Burgess" on FacebookBorn in Wellingborough in 1919, William caught the eyes of the Luton scouts when turning out for Rushden where his skilful ball control and clever centres from the right wing earned him a contract at Kenilworth Road in 1938.
Such were his displays in the reserves he was called up to the first team just before the outbreak of War and looked forward to a bright future. Sadly, the hostilities ended his professional career.
William passed away in 2003
