William Trueman
William Trueman Share "William Trueman" on FacebookBorn in London in 1888, William won numerous honours in youth football and was recommended to the Town by the secretary/manager of Barking in the summer of 1909.
The move turned out to be a poisoned chalice as William played in the same position as England international Bob Hawkes so only got first team chances when Bob was injured or away on international duty.
After only nine appearances in 1909-10, a disillusioned William returned to London to turn out for Leyton.
