Willy McInnes Share "Willy McInnes" on FacebookBorn in Beith in 1902, Willie was playing for Arthurlie in the Scottish Second Division when the club folded in 1929.
Accepting a trial at Luton he was signed on and given a first team chance by manager John McCartney on the left wing. Becoming a crowd favourite with his speed and crossing ability he overcame the threat of Lewis Bedford but a falling out with new manager George Kay and homesickness saw him return to Scotland after only one season.
