Robert Anderson

Robert (Bobby) Nicoll Smith ANDERSON

Born in Ardrossan in 1897, Bobby was turning out for the local Winterton Rovers when he was spotted by Town scouts along with his playing colleague Andy Kerr leading to the pair of them coming to Kenilworth Road in 1923.
A small (the smallest in the division so it was said), tenacious full-back he was a regular in the side over the next two seasons before a falling out with the management led to him leaving for Newport County in 1926 where he was virtually ever present for the next four years.
After a short spell at Lincoln he returned to Luton to work before passing away in 1974.
