Alan Kimble

Alan Frank Kimble Date of Birth: Aug 6, 1966

One half of a set of identical twins, Alan was on the books of Charlton as a youngster but it was only after moving to Cambridge in 1986 that he earned a regular first team place.

In seven years at the Abbey, Alan made almost 300 League appearances and was regarded as the best left-back in the club’s history. Quick and a clean tackler, Alan was remarkably consistent and it was no surprise when he earned a move to Premier League side Wimbledon in 1993 for £175,000.

After missing most of the 2001/02 season with a knee injury, Alan was given a free transfer and was snapped up by his old boss Joe Kinnear at Luton. By then 36, Alan could not reproduce his earlier form and after 12 League appearances over the 2002/03 campaign was allowed to move to Dagenham & Redbridge.

Alan subsequently managed Aveley and Maldon and Tiptree.
