Alec Chamberlain

Fen boy Alec first made a name for himself as a teenage goalkeeper at Colchester but a dream move to Everton did not work out, leading to him signing as number two to Les Sealey at Luton in July 1988.

Alec waited patiently for his chance and when it came he did not miss a game for almost three seasons. A brave goalkeeper with superb reflexes, Alec seemed set to stay at Kenilworth Road for life and it was a major disappointment when he decided to join Sunderland under freedom of contract in 1993.

Alec then joined Watford and after hanging up his gloves joined the coaching staff at Vicarage Road.
