Alf Tirrell
Alfred Percy Tirrell Born: 7th February 1892 From: Share "Alf Tirrell" on FacebookBorn in Desborough in 1894, Alf started out at Peterborough City before moving to West Ham in 1913.
Although not a regular for the Hammers, Alf missed a chunk of his football career due to the Great War and came to Luton in the summer of 1920.
A left back who was said to be ‘hefty’ he was a good tackler who read the game well. A virtual ever-present for three years he was badly injured early in his fourth season and decided to call it a day and retire to concentrate on his business interests.
Alf passed away in 1944.
