Allan Brown

Allan Duncan Brown Date of Birth: Oct 12, 1926

Allan Brown became a record Scottish export when leaving East Fife for Blackpool in exchange for £25,000 in 1950 due to his pace, power and subtlety in the forward line.

A Scottish international, he was regarded as a major coup by the Hatters in 1957 and became part of the Luton side that won through to Wembley for the 1959 F.A.Cup final making up for the two finals he missed with Blackpool due to injury.

After spells at Portsmouth and Wigan, Allan returned to Kenilworth Road as manager in 1966 and steered the club to the Division Four championship. Following several more managerial posts, Allan lived in Lytham St Annes in retirement until passing away in 2011.
