Robert Parkinson Date of Birth: Apr 27, 1873 Share "Robert Parkinson" on FacebookBorn in Preston in 1872, Bob had made a name for himself as a goalscorer with various Lancashire non-League sides before a spell at Rotherham Town from where he came to the Town in the summer of 1895.
The Town were embarking on their second season in the Southern League and from the start Bob formed a good striking relationship with Hugh Galbraith and had netted five goals in the first ten games before he received an offer from Blackpool where he started their first game in the Football League.
A wandering career took in Newton Heath where he was suspended for reasons unknown and finishing off with spells at Watford and Swindon.
Bob passed away in Preston in 1935.
