Brian Chambers

Brian Chambers Date of Birth: Oct 31, 1949

Midfielder Brian, an England schoolboy international, signed professional for Sunderland in August 1967 before making a surprise £30,000 move to Arsenal six years later.

It did not happen for Brian at Highbury and so he accepted a transfer to Luton who had just been promoted to the top flight. The clever ballplayer really came into his own though, after the Hatters were relegated in 1975 and for the next two seasons he was a regular in the side and also weighed in with some spectacular goals.

Brian then went on to give good service to Millwall, Bournemouth and Halifax over the next four years before turning out for several non-league clubs finishing up as player-manager of Poole in 1991.

Living in Ferndown, Brian became a financial adviser for Zurich.
