Bruce Rioch

Bruce David Rioch Date of Birth: Sep 6, 1947

Born in Aldershot but raised in Luton, Bruce made his League debut as a 17 year old for the Hatters in November 1964 and soon had the scouts flocking to Kenilworth Road where they admired his pace, power and fierce shooting.

After helping the Town to the championship of Division Four in 1968 and seeing his colleagues narrowly miss out the following year, Bruce accepted a record fee move to Aston Villa.

Further big money moves to Derby and Everton followed as well as the honour of skippering Scotland, the country of his father.

Bruce then entered into a second career managing, amongst others, Middlesbrough, Bolton, Arsenal and Norwich with some success followed by a spell with Odense. Bruce now lives in Cornwall in retirement.
