Colin Cook

Colin Cook Date of Birth: Jan 8, 1909

Born in North Shields in 1909, Colin first came to prominence at Chesterfield where he was banging in the goals for fun. Prevarication over the terms of his contract led to the Town slipping in to bring him to Kenilworth Road in the summer of 1934.

Although scoring a lot of goals for the reserves his first team appearances were sparse although he netted five in eight games including a hat-trick in a 6-0 win over Crystal Palace in September 1935.

Leaving for Northampton in 1936, Colin fared little better there and so returned to the north-east to see out his playing days and take up his previous trade as a joiner.

Colin passed away in North Shields in 1976.
