Colin Todd

Colin Todd Date of Birth: Dec 12, 1948

A magnificent central defender or defensive midfield player, Colin was lighting quick with a cool football brain and after first catching the eye with Sunderland, moved to Derby for a massive £170,000 in 1971.

A mainstay in the Rams side that won the Division One championship in 1972 and 1975, Colin was surprisingly sold to Everton in 1978 before helping Birmingham into the top flight and Oxford out of Division Three.

The England international had been out of the UK for a year, playing in Canada, when Luton manager David Pleat invited him to help his inexperienced and injury hit side in October 1984. Sadly, he only lasted two games before an injury effectively put paid to his playing career.

Colin later managed Middlesbrough, Bolton and Derby amongst others.
