Chelsea prodigy Damian had already starred for the Blues and made nine England Under-21 appearances when he was loaned out to Luton in September 1992 to further his football education.

The Hatters were suffering from an injury crisis at the time and Damian stepped in to help stem the tide without particularly catching the eye.

A big money move to Crystal Palace then followed but it was a subsequent move, to Burnley in 1996, where he finally won a regular first team place in midfield and also showed his shooting prowess with several well taken goals.

Damian’s final move came in 1998 when he went to Northampton but after only two appearances in two years at Sixfields he had accept that a back injury had put paid to his football career.

After six years working in Chelsea’s academy, Damian coached at Charlton, Southend and Punjab FC.
