David Colquhoun

David Colquhoun Date of Birth: Jan 9, 1906

Born in Motherwell in 1906, David was on the verge of Scottish international honours when he was brought south by Tottenham in 1931.

The tough tackling wing half, with shrewd distribution skills, helped Spurs win promotion to the top flight but by 1935 saw his appearances become more sporadic.

Luton were looking for a big name signing to appease the fans following the sales of Buster Brown and Tom Bell and he came to Kenilworth Road in March 1935.

After a solid start, the emergence of Jock Finlayson saw him lose his first team spot and he departed to Rochdale in 1936.

David passed away in Motherwell in 1983.
