Born in Nottingham in 1868, Teddy joined the Town in 1893 as a goalkeeper having previously played for three seasons at Royal Arsenal.
Only 5’8”, he was solidly built which was a requirement at a time when the game was rather more physical than it is today. Was virtually ever present during his two years at the club and was the last line of defence in some famous FA Cup runs as well as the inaugural season in the Southern League.
After leaving Luton in 1895, Teddy played for minor clubs in Notts and went back to his trade as a bricklayer. Later on he became a trainer at Nottingham Forest.
