Ernest Needham
Ernest Needham Date of Birth: Mar 5, 1892 Share "Ernest Needham" on FacebookBorn in Staveley in 1892, Ernest, the nephew of famous Sheffield United player ‘Nudger’ Needham, played for three years at Bramall Lane but only made one first team start in that time.
He then moved to Staveley Town from where the Town signed him in the summer of 1914.
A left-half, he played four games at the start of the 1914-15 season but failed to impress and was dropped to the reserves. At the end of the season he asked for his contract to be cancelled and joined the Army.
Ernest passed away in 1975.
