Gordon Richard Fincham Date of Birth: Jan 8, 1935 Share "Gordon Fincham" on FacebookTough, uncompromising centre-half Gordon joined Leicester as a 17 year old in 1952 and after working his way up through the ranks at Filbert Street seemed to have claimed a regular first team spot three years later only for serious injury to strike.
By the time he gained full fitness others had overtaken him in the pecking order so he accepted a move to Plymouth where he enjoyed five good seasons before joining Luton Town in 1963.
Gordon battled manfully as the Hatters escaped relegation in 1964 but following the inevitable drop a year later he emigrated to South Africa where he turned out for Port Elizabeth and ran a sports shop.
On retirement, Gordon moved back to his native Peterborough where he passed away in 2012.
