Harry Cockerill
Harry Cockerill Date of Birth: Jan 14, 1894 Share "Harry Cockerill" on FacebookBorn in Ryhope, near Sunderland in 1894, Harry was picked up by Arsenal after playing for Aldershot Command during the Great War.
The tough tackling half-back could not get a game at Highbury so moved to Luton in 1920 on the recommendation of ‘Punch’ McEwen. He played eight games at left-half over the 1920-21 season but left to join Mid-Rhondda at the campaign’s end.
After a spell at Bristol City, Harry enjoyed a good run at Reading where he was virtually ever present for two seasons.
Harry finished his playing career at Merthyr and passed away in 1960.
