Hod Paul
Horace Joseph Paul Share "Hod Paul" on FacebookBorn in Sandridge in 1859, Hod first came to prominence with St Albans in 1883 as a tough, no-nonsense defender who was particularly good in the air.
Hod played for the Hertfordshire representative side as well as the Town on occasion and turned professional with the Strawplaiters in 1891 appearing in all the games in the long FA Cup run of 1891-92.
Hod left the Town at the end of that season becoming a ‘beer retailer’ in St Albans. He passed away in St Albans in 1918.
