Hugh Roberts Date of Birth: Oct 14, 1882 Share "Hugh Roberts" on FacebookBorn in Rhyl in 1887, Hugh played his first football for Port Sunlight before switching to Southport where his performances on the right wing attracted the bigger clubs leading to a move to Leeds City in 1909.
In three seasons at Leeds, Hugh racked up over 100 League games before losing his place and transferring to Scunthorpe from where he came to Luton in the summer of 1914 just as the Town had won promotion to Southern League Division One.

Hugh returned from the Great War physically unscathed but by then his playing days were over.
