Iain Dowie

Iain Dowie Date of Birth: Jan 9, 1965

Hatfield born Iain was a Development Engineer with British Aerospace and banging in the goals for Hendon when a £30,000 bid from Luton gave him the chance to ply his trade in the top flight.

After signing on in December 1988 Iain played only a bit part in his first season but in the following campaign he made the strikers position his own and it was a great shame when this scorer of vital goals was reluctantly sold to West Ham for £480,000 in March 1991.

Since that time the Northern Ireland international enjoyed another ten years at the top before taking up another career as a coach and manager of note including taking the hot seat at Crystal Palace, QPR and Hull amongst others.

Iain subsequently combined a job at Sky TV as a pundit with a role in property surveying.
