Alfred Ernest Hoy Date of Birth: May 26, 1869 Share "Jack Hoy" on FacebookBorn in Luton in 1869, Jack played for Luton Montrose and impressed the Town committee to the extent that he was ‘signed on’ to play for the Strawplaiters.
A strong left-back, Jack played in all the FA Cup matches in 1891 and 1892 but was relegated to the reserves when the Town entered the Southern League in 1894. After joining St Albans for one season he decided to concentrate on his work as a hat manufacturer and passed away in Luton in 1944.
