Joe Mills

Joseph Mills Date of Birth: Apr 10, 1895

Born in Creswell, Derbyshire in 1895, Joe had been signed on by Nottingham Forest in 1919 but in four years at the City Ground had been unable to stake a regular place in the side.

A steady wing-half, he was brought to Luton in the summer of 1924 as competition for both Bob Millar and James Walker but played the first 31 games of the 1924-25 campaign until injury struck in a home match with Charlton which effectively ended his career.

He retired from the professional game at the end of that season and went to work at Bentley Colliery, near Doncaster and passed away in that town in 1938.
