John Burley
John Burley Date of Birth: Oct 18, 1868 Share "John Burley" on FacebookBorn in Derby in 1878, Jack was an early football enthusiast who did not mind where he played on the field although he made his name as a goalkeeper and turned out for a local side Park Rovers.
Moving to Luton for work, he played for Luton Forest before being approached by the Town. He played in all the club’s FA Cup ties in 1891 and 1892 but two costly errors in a tie at Polytechnic in November 1892 led to him being dropped, never to play again.
Jack passed away in Luton in 1948.
