Jon Walders Date of Birth: Sep 26, 1883 Share "Jon Walders" on FacebookBorn in Barrow in 1883, Jack had been picked up by Burnley in 1904 where he joined his elder brother David. Jack played mainly on the wing whilst his sibling was a centre-half.
The pair moved to Oldham in 1906 where they helped the Latics win Football League status but whereas David stayed on Jack was allowed to join the Town in the summer of 1907.
Said to be ‘highly experienced, a clever dribbler and a neat crosser of the ball’ he started the 1907-08 season with an optimistic Town hoping to improve on two fourth place finishes but injuries and a loss of form meant that he did not live up to expectation.
Released at the season’s end Jack moved to Chorley before passing away in 1924.
