Lee Mansell

Lee Mansell Date of Birth: Sep 23, 1982

Rarely can a player have made such an impact on his first team debut as Lee when he scored for the Hatters 58 seconds into an F.A.Cup replay against QPR at Loftus Road in 2001.

Showing enthusiasm and a good turn of pace from midfield, Lee was virtually ever present for the remainder of that season scoring five goals from 18 League starts as the Town plunged into Division Three.

After starting as first choice the following season, Lee lost his place to Ahmet Brkovic and apart from a reasonable run in 2003/04 he was always on the periphery of the action.

Leaving Luton on a free transfer in 2005, Lee went to Oxford where he was voted ‘Player of the Year’ as United dropped out of the Football League and sadly the same thing happened with his next club, Torquay.

He stayed at Plainmoor for eight years before finishing his playing career at Bristol Rovers and subsequently coaching in their academy.
