Great things were predicted for Solihull born Mark after he starred for England schoolboys and then, after signing professional terms with Aston Villa, earned Youth caps.

Sadly, he failed to establish himself at Villa Park and moved to Middlesbrough before coming back nearer home to sign on for Wolves in 1991.

Luton Town manager David Pleat, desperately looking to bolster his squad at a time when the Hatters were fighting through to the F.A.Cup semi-final in 1994, took Mark in on a months loan.

Obviously blessed with wing skills he did not make a good enough impression and finished his League days with Port Vale.

Mark then went on a nomadic career abroad and was last seen playing in Sweden.
