Martin Williams

Martin Keith Williams Date of Birth: Jul 12, 1973

Although born in Luton and the nephew of ex-Hatter Ray Daniel, Martin started his football career as a Youth Trainee at Leicester before being enticed to Kenilworth Road and signing professional forms in 1991.

Over the next four years, the popular winger made 40 League appearances for the Town although most of the time he came on as a ‘supersub’ when the team was chasing a game and his pace could be used to full advantage.

After a loan spell at Colchester, Martin moved to Reading where after a slow start he was converted into a striker and was top scorer for the Royals in 1998/99 even though he was out injured from the February.

The injury ended his Reading career and after short spells at Swindon and Peterborough, Martin moved down into non-League turning out for a variety of local clubs.
