Michael Leary

Michael Antonio Leary Date of Birth: Apr 17, 1983

Another London born youngster who was spotted by Luton Town scouts and enticed to Kenilworth Road where there was a better than even chance of making an eventual first team appearance.

A strong tackling midfielder, Michael moved up through the ranks and made his League debut in a 1-1 draw at home to QPR in September 2003 and opened his goalscoring account with a brace in a 3-4 defeat at Hartlepool the following April.

Sadly, Michael could not force his way into a regular first team spot with the Hatters and after long loan spells with Bristol Rovers, Walsall, Torquay and Brentford he moved to Barnet on a permanent contract.

Subsequently, Michael turned out for Grimsby and Gainsborough Trinity before finishing up at Spalding.
