Norman Brown
Norman Brown Date of Birth: Jan 30, 1885 Share "Norman Brown" on FacebookSaid to be one of the quickest wingers in the south, Norman was born in Willington Quay, Newcastle in 1884 and played for his local side before being picked up by Sunderland in 1904.
In three years at Roker Park he gained top-flight League experience but was mainly used as an understudy. After a year at Brentford he was quickly signed by the Town in May 1908 and was virtually ever present in the following campaign, with his accurate crossing at speed a feature of his play.
Surprisingly let go in 1909 he turned out for Southend, Millwall, North Shields and Blackpool in quick succession before the Great War ended his playing career.
Norman passed away in Lewisham in 1938.
