Paul Hughes

John Paul Hughes Date of Birth: Apr 19, 1976

England schoolboy international midfielder Paul had a promising career mapped out when he worked his way up through the ranks from youth trainee to the Premiership with Chelsea, taking in loan spells at Stockport and Norwich to expand his knowledge along the way.

When his former boss, Glenn Hoddle, became manager at Southampton he soon recruited Paul but a serious groin injury put him out of the game for almost a year. By the time of his return to fitness a new manager was in situ leading to the creative midfielder being allowed to move to Luton in August 2001.

When fully fit, Paul proved a vital member of the Luton squad but he suffered a series of niggling injuries that cut back his appearances. Sadly a long, debilitating virus eventually ended his playing career leaving Paul to set up his own web-site business and become a successful manager at Kings Langley and Hayes and Yeading.
