Paul Telfer

Paul Norman Telfer Date of Birth: Oct 21, 1971

Paul came to Luton Town as a Youth Trainee in 1988, along with his Edinburgh youth club playing colleague Darren Salton, before signing professional forms in November of that year.

A genuine utility player, Paul made his League debut for the Hatters in a 0-1 defeat at Everton in May 1991 and soon made a first team spot his own, usually playing on the right side of midfield and regularly getting on the goalscoring charts.

It was with great regret that the Town sold the remarkably consistent and popular performer to Coventry for £1.5 million in 1995 with the Scottish international continuing to play top flight football in England and Scotland before dropping down the divisions and was still turning out at a decent level into his 40s.
