Peter Turner
Peter Turner Date of Birth: Dec 18, 1876 Share "Peter Turner" on FacebookBorn in Glasgow in 1876, Peter played for Parkhead Juniors and St Bernards before joining up with old pal Jimmy Tennant at Woolwich Arsenal in 1900.
He was virtually ever present at inside-right in 1900-01, forming a wing partnership with Tennant, before a big offer took the pair of them to Middlesbrough who they helped to promotion to the top flight.
After falling out with Boro, the Town stepped in quickly to sign him in October 1903 and for the remainder of that campaign he missed only two games as a playmaker. He could score goals as well as witnessed by a pair which knocked Watford out of the FA Cup.
Watford took notice and when they signed Tennant they fought hard to re-unite him with his friend leading to Peter linking up with him in the summer of 1904.
Peter enjoyed three seasons at Watford before embarking on a nomadic trip around the country finishing up at Doncaster.
Peter passed away in East Kilbride in 1970.
