Richard Cooke

Richard Edward Cooke Date of Birth: Sep 4, 1965

Islington born Richard signed on for Tottenham after leaving school and made his Spurs debut at Luton in November 1983, scoring in a 4-2 win.

He failed to make his mark at White Hart Lane, though, and moved to Harry Redknapp’s Bournemouth where his clever wing play attracted Luton manager Ray Harford who signed him for £75,000 in March 1989.

He featured regularly as substitute for the Hatters in the top flight but rejoined Bournemouth where his league career was ended by a knee injury in 1993.

Richard then became a London black cab driver, commuting from his home in Bournemouth.
