Manager Ray Harford is booed from the pitch at the end of the game as Luton fail to trouble the Villa defence and tamely surrender their unbeaten home record. Roy Wegerle damages his ankle ligaments early in the game but limps on until half time. Derek Mountfield taps in the only goal.
