Robert Snodgrass Date of Birth: Sep 7, 1987 Share "Robert Snodgrass" on FacebookStarted his career with Scottish side Livingston where in 4 seasons he played 92 times scoring 17 goals. He rejected a new contracted and moved to second tier Leeds United in the summer of 2008. A midfielder or winger, Robert spent four seasons with the Whites making 193 appearances scoring 41 times. Despite winning the Fans’ Player of the season and the Players’ Player of the Season award, Robert was sold to Norwich City for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2012. After 74 appearances and 14 goals in two seasons in the top flight, Robert was sold on to Hull City, again for an undisclosed fee.
After 3 games, a dislocated knee in August 2014 saw him miss the rest of the 2014/15 season in the top flight. Hull were relegated to the Championship (2nd tier) and it was not until November 2015 that he made his comeback in an Under 21 game. His comeback continued and he played 29 times scoring 5 times as the Tigers were promoted to the top flight via the play offs.
In January 2017 after 24 games and 9 goals in the Premier League, Hull advertised that they would accept offers of around £10 million. West Ham paid the fee and signed him on a three and half year deal. Robert played 15 games in the second half of the season but was loaned out for the 2017/18 season to Championship (2nd tier) Aston Villa. His 43 appearances, 14 assists and 7 goals helped Villa to the play off final where they lost to Fulham.
Back to West Ham and a regular place in the side for the following two seasons. The 2020/21 season saw Robert play few games so a move to West Brom came in January 2021. The move was not successful with just 15 appearances before being signed by Luton in January 2022 on a contract to the end of the season. Manager Nathan Jones said: “We’ve brought Snoddy in because of the experience he gives us, the wonderful quality that he has, and it became the right time to do it. We’ve been looking for a left footed midfield player for a while and we’ve picked up a few injuries in the midfield area, and so he ticks a lot of boxes.”
His first game was as a substitute in the 3 2 home defeat to Chelsea in the F.A. Cup. His last was the play off semi final defeat at Huddersfield. Robert moved on the Heart of Midlothian for a season then announced his retirement.
Robert gained 28 Scotland caps between 2011 and 2017 and scored 7 goals for his country.
