Sid Albert Bird Date of Birth: Nov 14, 1900 Share "Sid Bird" on FacebookLocal boy Sid, born in Luton in 1904, was starring in goal for Luton Amateurs when he was picked up by the Town in the summer of 1922.
Sadly, Sid only got one chance in the first team, a 2-1 win at Portsmouth in December 1922 where he acquitted himself well replacing the injured Tommy Gibbon.
When Gibbon recovered it was back to the reserves for Sid followed by a move to Kettering in the summer of 1923.
Sid passed away in Luton in 1967.
