Edward Potts

Born in Tottenham in 1886, Edward first came to the fore as an amateur with Tufnell Park.

Joining Luton as a professional in the summer of 1909, Edward had to bide his time in the reserves waiting for a chance in his favoured left-back spot but once picked he became a regular for the next four seasons and a crowd favourite.

A cultured player who never resorted to launching the ball upfield he surprisingly left for the Town’s biggest Southern League rivals Croydon Common in 1913.

He returned to Kenilworth Road a year later but did not add to his first team appearances.
