Thomas Allsopp
Thomas Allsopp Born: 18th December 1880 From: Share "Thomas Allsopp" on FacebookA fast and clever winger who was born in Leicester in 1880, it was not long before he was picked up by the Fosse club where he became a regular in their side.
It was regarded as a coup when he signed on for the Town in September 1902 (although a job on the side helped) and in his two years at Dunstable Road he set up a good many goals for Jimmy Blessington and Bert Moody.
A county cricketer of note for Leicestershire he returned to Leicester Fosse in 1904 before subsequently turning out for Brighton and Norwich where he eventually settled to run a pub.
Returning from active service on a troop ship at the end of World War One he contracted Spanish Flu and died in Norwich in 1919.
