Frank Beresford

Frank Beresford Date of Birth: Oct 8, 1910

Born in Chesterfield in 1910, Frank played junior football in Sheffield as well as working as a miner before signing on for Doncaster and then on to Preston where he was a member of their promotion winning side to the top flight in 1933-34.

A big fee brought him to Luton in the summer of 1935 where initially his dribbling skills and promptings from inside forward earned him a starting place in the side but the signing of George Martin relegated him to the reserves.

He left for Crystal Palace and then enjoyed a productive spell at Carlisle before the War ended his career.

Frank passed away in Doncaster in 1974.
