Born in Luton in 1859, George was in at the start of football in Luton, playing regularly for Luton Wanderers and then becoming a founder member of the Town club in 1885 along with his brother Albert.

A small but bulky winger who also had an eye for goal, George was almost ever present for the first six years of the club’s formation and served as a committee member and later trainer.

Remaining in Luton all his life he passed away in 1943.
