Harold Booton

Harold Booton Date of Birth: Mar 2, 1906

Born in Annesley, Notts in 1906, Harold was spotted playing for Shirebrook by Birmingham and signed for them in 1929. A tough tackling, fearless full-back he went on the play 150 top flight League games for the Blues but as his first team appearances started to dwindle he was snapped up by the Town in February 1936.

He went straight into the first team but after seven games was badly injured at Aldershot and by the time he returned the Town were about to embark on their championship winning season with a settled side.

After playing for two seasons in the reserves he moved on to Atherstone before becoming a publican in Swadlincote. Harold passed away in Denham in 1976.
